Two Platters
Who ever is "upstairs" whether it be God, Buddha, Allah, Bob, Shafonda or Suzie... they didn't hesitate to test me on First day of the New Year. I was presented with two platters, both offering something good, but it was up to me to determine which one was for the better. Platter one was fast food; quick, cheap, disgusting, fulfilling, unhealthy, gross, and tasty. The Second platter was a home-cooked meal, only cooked with the best ingredients, spices and savory juices that I could still taste if it came to mind. Home-cooked meals are: thought-out throughly, done in due time (patience is a virtue), well respected, nourishing, fulfilling and delicious. Home-cooked meals, are the type of meals that bring families and loved one's together for the better, they're the meals which not leave lasting tastes in your mouth but lasting conversation and memories to share. So even though, the 10-piece chicken nuggets from McDonald's LOOKED good, I chose to go home and enjoy a home-cooked meal instead.

I maintain my composure.
